Takes a few minutes to start slide shows from CDs
Your computer is old with a slow processor.

Slide show not working properly
Turn off all other programs. Reboot computer and run slide show with no other programs running. Problems may be from music or internet software running at the same time as the slide show.

Slide show running through slides very fast without sound
Try the above step. If that does not work:
1) Prior to selecting mirclpc.pps or evolpc.pps in the Powerpoint Viewer box select:
Advance slides, Manually.
2) The slide show will now run manually and you will need to press 'Enter' or click the left mouse button to move to next slide. On some slides if no sound is heard, again press 'Enter' to commence the sound.
3) When the sound stops, the slide is finished, press 'Enter' and proceed to the next slide.

No sound
Check / adjust:
1) Speakers / headphones are plugged in and switched on.
2) Find Volume Control;  set 'Volume Control' and 'Wave' to midway or higher, and ensure 'Wave' is selected.

Two voice files play at the same time
Press 'P'  2 or 3 times to stop both voices from playing. Press 'Enter' to restart the show.

This appears to be common with XP. It may help to turn off all other programs and then reboot the computer and run the slide show with no other programs running.

Voice stutters
Not enough RAM of SWAP space available. Increase in Virtual Memory is required.
PC: 1) My Computer, 2) Control Panel, 3) System, 4) Performance, 5) Virtual Memory, 6) increase by 100 Mbytes, 7) repeat if stutter is still present.
Mac: as per instructions on the inside cover.

It may help to reduce the screen resolution and turn off other programs to minimise the work load for the computer processor.

The computer may be very old and not able to cope with the processing of the large PowerPoint presentations.

Text is messy, incomplete and unorganised
Correct fonts are not installed. Install Times New Roman and Arial fonts.

Cannot play the MP3 audio files
Search the internet for free downloads using the key words: Media Player.

Cannot read the PDF files
Search the internet for free downloads using the key words: Adobe Acrobat Reader.
